For those of you who weren’t aware back in the summer we sponsored and supported Newports first TEDx event.
TEDx Casnewydd was the product of a team of hardworking creatives from across Newport, including our own Andrew Rogers as he played a major role in the organisation of this event.
The event held at The Riverfront on the 26th October 2019 saw a range of free-thinkers, musicians and creatives come together for a day of discovery and inspiration – with an opening speech by Cllr William J Routley, Mayor of Newport. The event was certainly a success and below you can see for yourself…
For those who are unfamiliar with the TED brand and TEDx Events below is a statement taken from their website;
“TEDx is a grassroots initiative, created in the spirit of TED’s overall mission to research and discover “ideas worth spreading.” TEDx brings the spirit of TED to local communities around the globe through TEDx events. These events are organised by passionate individuals who seek to uncover new ideas and to share the latest research in their local areas that spark conversations in their communities. TEDx events include live speakers and recorded TED Talks, and are organised independently under a free license granted by TED. These events are not controlled by TED, but event organisers agree to abide by our format, and are offered guidelines for curation, speaker coaching, event organizing and more. They learn from us and from each other. More than 3000 events are now held annually.”
We are proud to have sponsored this event there really isn’t anything better than seeing a great event like this being brought to Newport. There were so many inspirational speakers from all walks of life, (We’ve listed them to the right) some told stories, others shared ideas.. most importantly came together.
We high recommend you check out some of their talks that appeal to you – Click the title of the talk or visit their website www.tedxcasnewydd.com/
We hope to see this event return in September 2020, however we will keep you updated on this due to the current health crisis. You can find all the latest info on their facebook page
